About
Hollis Sullivan formed Veritas Energy, LLC in 2011 as an energy company with a clear focus on values and good business practices. He brings over 40 years of tried and true experience in the oil and gas industry. Hollis got his start in the oil and gas business with Cobra Oil & Gas in the late 1970s. In 1990, Hollis founded Hollis R. Sullivan, Inc. as a small oil and gas company based in Wichita Falls, Texas. The company drilled over 400 wells throughout the state of Texas during his tenure as President. Hollis R. Sullivan, Inc. sold its initial Barnett Shale assets to Encana in 2005 and subsequently developed Barnett Shale assets to XTO Energy in 2008. From 2008 through 2102, Hollis served as Chairman of Titan Operating, LLC, a private equity-backed company focused in the Barnett Shale (later merged with Atlas Resources Partners, L.P.). In 2015, Veritas directed their efforts to the Permian Basin, building a substantial leasehold position which was merged into Double Eagle Energy Permian, LLC and later sold to Parsley Energy, Inc. in 2017. Since the sale to Parsley, Veritas has focused efforts on pursuing non-operated opportunities and minerals within the Permian Basin with line-of-sight development. Veritas has worked creatively with high-quality operators and sellers of non-operated interests to help accomplish their strategic financing goals on an efficient timeline.
Veritas is an independent, upstream oil and gas company employing modern drilling techniques to extract oil and gas in an environmentally responsible manner. Further, Veritas looks to responsibly invest in non-operated opportunities with reputable operators with a focus on ESG. We are dedicated to accomplishing oil and gas investing and development with integrity, responsibility and respect for the communities where we live and work. Veritas values the industry relationships established through decades of operating experience and views those relationships as a key to the company’s success.
Veritas attributes its long history of success in the industry to a foundation built upon strong values and integrity. We believe in a disciplined business approach to stay true to these values while delivering results to our stakeholders in the right way. One of the most important values at Veritas is a focus on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters. This means that operating in a safe, environmentally sustainable and ethical manner is front and center to our strategy. This includes implementing technology to reduce emissions and energy usage, being consciously aware of and support the communities in which we live and work, and transparency in reporting in all respects to our partners. Veritas is committed to partnering and investing with groups that not only share this same set of values but ensure its a focus area for their business. Veritas maintains an excellent ESG track record and is focused on continuous improvement in this and other important areas of our business.
