Hollis Sullivan is the founder and co-chief executive officer of Veritas, overseeing the strategic direction of the company. Hollis began his career with Cobra Oil & Gas and also worked as an oil field pumper for his father and grandfather. He made his first significant oil discovery in 1990 in Concho County, Texas. He has built and sold various companies since then: founding Hollis R. Sullivan, Inc. in 1990, later selling its Barnett Shale assets to Encana Corporation and XTO Energy Inc., and Veritas in 2011, eventually merging with a subsidiary of Double Eagle Energy and later selling its Permian Basin assets to Parsley Energy, Inc. in 2017. Hollis earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Midwestern State University. He previously served as chairman of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, where he remains an active member, along with being an active member of the Fort Worth Wildcatters and IPAA.

Houston Sullivan is the co-chief executive officer of Veritas. Prior to rejoining Veritas in 2022, he was senior vice president of business development at Double Eagle Energy Holdings III, LLC and Double Eagle Energy Permian, LLC, a merger between Veritas Energy, LLC and Double Eagle Energy Holdings, II. Through these various roles, he has been actively involved in building companies focused in the core of the Midland Basin. Houston earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Midwestern State University. Houston has continued to expand his connections and involvement in the oil and gas industry. He has served as chairman of the Board of Texas Alliance of Energy Producers along with being an active member of the Fort Worth Wildcatters, PBLA, AAPL and FWAPL.

Mark Schumacher serves as president and chief operating officer at Veritas and is responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s technical, evaluation and execution efforts. Mark joined Veritas in 2018 and brings over 35 years of industry experience, which began with Union Pacific Resources Group, Inc. and includes all phases of upstream and midstream activities within the oil and gas business, with exposure to multiple basins throughout the U.S. (onshore and offshore), Canada and Latin America. Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He is a member of the Board of Visitors of the University of Oklahoma Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy.

Chad Skiles serves as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Veritas and is responsible for finance, accounting and investor relations. Chad joined Veritas in 2012 and has over 25 years of experience in accounting and finance, serving as a chief financial officer in both the oil and gas and private equity industries. Chad has led Veritas’ capital raise efforts and has had direct involvement in the evaluation of oil and gas transactions ranging up to $2.8 billion. Previously, Chad was senior director of accounting and finance for TPG Capital's private equity business unit, which encompassed over $48 billion of investor funds and several thousand investment entities at the time. Chad earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Science in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a registered CPA in the state of Texas.

Steve Fitzgerald serves as senior vice president of business development at Veritas and brings over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically in land and business development. Prior to his role with Veritas, Steve was a partner and vice president of business development with Cordillera Energy Partners II and III, LLC until 2012. In 2017, Steve partnered with Hollis Sullivan and Veritas in an emerging play in the Anadarko Basin and took on his current role with the company. Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in petroleum land management from the University of Oklahoma.

Randy Blurton serves as vice president of land and legal at Veritas and brings over 18 years of industry experience, having previously worked for ConocoPhillips, Laredo Petroleum and Vine Energy. Prior to joining Veritas in 2022, Randy was a partner and executive vice president for Vine Energy until its merger with Chesapeake Energy in 2021. Randy earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Oklahoma State University and Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma.

Matt Engelman serves as vice president of engineering at Veritas and is responsible for engineering and asset evaluations for the company. Prior to joining Veritas in 2018, he worked for Presidio Petroleum and Trinity River Energy (preceded by Premier Natural Resources merger) after beginning his career with ConocoPhillips. Matt has operating experience across multiple basins and has led technical teams within acquisitions, corporate reserves and engineering management roles. Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University.

Allen Frierson serves as vice president of geology at Veritas and is responsible for subsurface evaluation and operations. Prior to joining the team in 2024, he worked for Devon Energy and Titus Oil & Gas. Allen has worked on a wide variety of projects in the Permian, Eagle Ford, Haynesville, Powder River and San Juan basins. Allen earned a Bachelor of Science in geology from Washington & Lee University, a Master of Science in geology from Colorado School of Mines and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. He is an active member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Fort Worth Geological Society.
